Hosta Plants for SaleWe grow the hosta plants in a 2lt pot. To try to keep the roots reasonably free, there will be some loose compost until about July when they should be rooted around fairly tightly. Please understand that it does not matter if the roots of a perennial like hosta are a bit tight - they will soon find their way out into the soil.Hosta plants will generally perform for you in the garden until late August, then they die back for the winter. As soon as there is a frost the leaves will brown and die back. Hostas will be happy in full sun or part shade. The more shaded the plants are, the richer and darker the green colours will be, although yellows will be more striking in more light. When in full light, hostas will produce more flower. For best results grow Hostas in well drained , but moist, reasonably fertile soil, making sure they get enough water in very dry years. Clear damaged and rotting leaves away, and mulch with dry sharp material (like gravel) to deter slugs. FOR GENERAL INFO, AND IMPORTANT SNIPPETS - LOOK AT THE HOME PAGE!
