They are not invasive (the tall bearded ones that is...) and have super flower. ....Tall bearded Iris generally prefer well drained, even dry soil in full sun. Make sure they have plenty of air around them, as they don't like humid conditions. ....The Iris ensata (of the Laevigatae group) generally prefer moist or even wet conditions, often doing well as pond or stream marginals.
